key fob not unlocking doors

What’s up guys! I’ve got a 2002 325i that I’ve had for a few years. Love the car! But recently it’s been parked and I start it about every other week and let it run to keep it all good, but the last time I tried to start it, my key fob for the door locks would not respond so I used the key to gain access through the door lock. Upon further investigation the button in the center console does nothing either, along with loss of wipers, trunk release button, interior lighting, and no power to windows, trunk lighting. However, the sunroof works, the power mirrors, radio, hazards, and headlight/ taillights all work. It also still starts right up and drives as usual. Has anyone else had this same problem? Or anyone who would know where to start looking? Any! Help will be greatly appreciated

Before I started taking anything apart, get in the car and drive it for a while. Maybe charging the battery and the key during the test drive will bring everything back to normal?

Thank you Markusmarkus for the info, all the links are very helpful, and it sounds exactly like what the problem is I’m having.
