I've read the instructions that come with the intake. Is there anyone out there that did their own istall that wants to offer some tips?

The tips I read really helped when I installed my UUC SSK.

Installation looks pretty straight forward. I would estimate it to take about 30-40 minutes.
But I've read that it took some people a couple of hours. That worries me.

What were the difficult parts of the install?

Was the actual install any different than the instructions?

Reading the instructions, it looks like the tricky part is getting the front of the heatshield integrated with the radiator.

you are right the hardest part is getting the getting the heat sheild in at the front. it almost looks and feels like it is to big but once you get it in the right spot it pops right in to place. when this happens you'll be like damn thats what he was talking about.It took me about 1hr to hr and a 1/2 but believe me once it is in you'll love it.The sound and feel are great. I think next to gruppe M its the best one on market because of the way the heat sheild give you air from stock hole and air around the headlight and underneath also. But this is just what I think. also i put the snorkel on after the heat sheild was in it made it alittle easier for me atleast.
