I was looking at the DICE Media Bridge, but found the price pretty ridiculous considering the reported inconsistency in how it operates. I figured for the price I could get a pretty nice after-market head unit. I found several, but the Jensen VM9215BT really caught my eye.

Basically it is a Single DIN unit where the screen flips up. It provides touch screen capability, Blue Tooth connectivity, works with iPhone5, Android, etc... At Crutchfield they run about $300. They include a BMW E46 plate to mount it in.

The Dynavin seems really interesting, but wow is it expensive.

So, for the price, you get similar capability.

Thoughts?

The flip up screens look too ricey almost you could say. Its basically a poor mans double din. I personally do not like them. I also work at a shop and people want new radios installed because the motor that raises and lowers the screen breaks after excessive use. So no I do not recommend them. From a mechanics perspective

@ dancmos i wouldnt buy a jensen its a cheap product to begin with theres others that are probably in your price point and better built.

@ taveet i wouldnt say a flip out screen is a poor mans double din. most of the flip out screen mirrors the price and quality of a double dine unit.

I like the dialog so far. I'm holding off for a few weeks. I'm waiting for more input.

My son likes the Dynavin for its more integrated look.
Your son knows whats up. Look up D5113U on ebay. I like how they look and am contemplating buying one. Just gotta dish out the money. Im going to do an exhaust first though

There are 2, one is 499 and the other 599. What's the difference?
To my knowledge they are both the same just sopd by different vendors. They used to be 450~475 when I almost pulled the trigger and then I put it off and the price goes up :banghead: but there is no difference. Read the product reviews on amazon

I'm looking at BMWLed on eBay. The deceptive thing about the price seems to be that it doesn't include the kit to move the HVAC controls, but maybe that's the same with Dynavin. I can't tell.

Links please. I realize you are the Dynavin distributor and I could be persuaded to go with you. I'd be lying to say I'm hesitant about the alternatives. To be frank though, your price is probably a showstopper for me.

you really need to start using the search button more often.

search for Enco B046 , or D5113U which is the same unit. Do not get their android version as they have lots of issues, but you'll see once you do your research.

Yeah, I would rather not give you a bunch of links bashing a competitor.....thats not why im here. As you said, the dynavin is more than you want to spend and thats fair, I just wanted to warn you and the future readers of this thread that the "clones" are not really the same thing as a dynavin, while they are a less expensive, there are many known issues with them, and there are reasons why they are cheap. Do your homework and decide what the compromises are worth to you. By the way, there are multiple threads on the first page of the forum dealing with them....you dont have to look very hard....
