E46 gauge cluster removal - sharpie mod - gauge face removal (portion). Should be similar in a way to other models

Awesome set of diys, but how did you clean the ICV? Just run it under the tap?
Get brake parts cleaner and put the stick in there, spray it up a lot and slosh the fluid inside.

Does that procedure work on all e46s?
No, it won't work on 99-00 models. Only 01 and up. The earlier ones have to have the pins on the gong connector (where you hook to tune the ECU) under the hood jumpered together.

wish i knew this before i started. i now have the idle control valve seperated from the engine, but cant remove it. i need to reattach it and would appreciate any advice on doing this with the throttle cable in the way, otherwise i'll need to tow it

The ICV just gets pushed back in. Shouldn't be that difficult.
