NEED YOUR PRICE PAID FOR A NEW BMW.....

i live in the SAN FRANCISCO bay area and planning to buy a
BMW 2003 325i.....

the dealer is offering a $500 over invoice
plus MACO or DAG fee for $200 (bay area advertising they said) and a Training fee of $160.

the total will be $945 over invoice.

is this a good deal? anybody got a better deal so far?

P.S. they said i have to buy floormats on my own..

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!!

Considering most dealers around here are sticking to a $2500-$5000 Dealer markup, over MSRP and not budging, if you're working with the *true* invoice price, that's a good deal.

btw, it's also worth calling Hammer Auto. They're an EXCELLENT broker (http://www.hammerauto.com/). I had a friend that just got an '03 Benz that they sourced for well under invoice.

Wow- that's a geat deal in the Bay area. As far as markup OVER MSRP, I think you shouldn't have to pay that unless you want an M or a z8 - most/all dealers I talked to in the Bay area (I talked to them all) were at least willing to move $500 off MSRP.

I ended up paying $1270 over invoice. $945 is OUTSTANDING for an '03. You should be able to do better if you get an 02 (some of the Bay area dealers still have them in stock - and I think they get a deal on financing too.

davezaristo,

did you pay $800 over invoice plus the MACO and training fees?

they said if the floormats is included with the car it is free otherwise i have to buy it myself.

does it come standard for the 03 325i?

I was offered a straight $800 over invoice, none of those bs fees, but i bought a coupe instead...(at that time, they had like 3 or 4 of the exact same car that i was looking for and it was at the end of the month)

Weatherford and Claridges seem to be the better dealerships in the Bay Area (from a pricing perspective).

I would definitely stay away from Steven's Creek and Peter Pan.

There seem to be A LOT of 325s on the lots still (very few 330s though), so, with the surplus, and with it being the end of the month, as well as the end of the year, you might be able to swing something pretty good, if you're looking to buy today.

Again, $945 over invoice is still a great deal - as long as it's the true invoice.

If you post the car's specs and the price they're offering, you might get some additional insights from the forum.

Weatherford would deal, Claridges would not. In fact, they were adamant that $500 below MSRP was the least they could do.

I went with East Bay BMW - great service and they beat my lowest price + floormats! PM me and I'll give you my contact info. ALl in all, a great experience.

Sorry, nubmw, I couldn't remember who the sales was since this was like back in july 02 and I ended up buying mine from allison. Anyhow, I think today is probably the best time to buy since:

1. yr end
2. car sales has been very slow in the SF bay area recently due to the weather (as per my bud who's a sales at serramonte lexus)
3. the huge supply they have for the 4dr...

I would probably make them throw in the floor mat at the price...still a good deal imo with or w/o..

It depends on what car you're looking at on whether a dealer will budge or not.

nubmw - that's a good price. As 3Wagon pointed out earlier, you may even be able to get a lower price on an '02, as MANY dealers still have '02 325s on their lots. Spending a few minutes calling around to see what they have left might save you a G or 2.
