Hi,

My car has hit 60K miles and I need to do a big checkup. So what does this check up do? Like replacing spark plugs? I want to get a list of items and see if I can do it in a cheaper shop.

One shop here quoted me US$800, so did the dealer. In Canada dealer, they even quoted me CDN $1600.

I want to see if $800 is reasonable?

Thanks

I had a local shop do my 60K service for $680, and that included 2 new rear tires at $130 each!!!

Basically BMW charges you for everything, if you need it or not. This shop, looks at everything, but won't replace it if it doesnt need replacing.

i'm at 39K so i haven't experienced this yet, but i NEVER imagined the 60K could cost that much - what are they saying they do to justify it?

they do tune up, replace your filters and wiper blades + inspection. Labor rate is about 100 an hour.

yeah labor is 100/hr and they book for 6 hours labor + parts

its a load of bull because you can do it all yourself...and should be checking on things anyway

im about 300 away from my 60k and are just about to reset the service indicator
