personally do not at all buy the numbers and would never spend $2800 on a chip alone.

Can anyone comment on this?

It simply comes down to fuel...Euro RON98 is the equivalent to 95 out here. Higher octane allows you to <u>take advantage</u> of spark advance and Vanos adjustments. Essentially, all US cars are "detuned" from the factory because we're limited to such garbage at the pump.
