i wouldn't buy autothority's number..

they claimed a whooping 10+ something gain for a 330Ci chip..over at bmw330ci.com, some guy bought barry's praise and ordered the chip. dynoed it, boom..no gain...........

how can you get such a gain on a naturally aspirated car just from a chip? remapping fuel and air and all that can't do much, unless the chip does something with the camshafts (if thats even possible :dunno: ) i dont see it being possible to push out that much hp from an electronical upgrade...

It simply comes down to fuel...Euro RON98 is the equivalent to 95 out here. Higher octane allows you to <u>take advantage</u> of spark advance and Vanos adjustments. Essentially, all US cars are "detuned" from the factory because we're limited to such garbage at the pump.

I have a few things to say about autothority.

First and foremost look at the dynograph they display for the 330i stock.

You will discover that top torque is off completly and their stock engine is also pulling way past redline.

How is that for a professional tuner??

I went there once for a dyno - innocent and unaware. Their printer would not print. They did not have access to the web from that computer so they couldn't e-mail the dyno sheets. They did not have a spare disk around. Next day at 4pm Robin finally sent me an e-mail with the dyno graphs - no data sheets, no air/fuel info. Plain squigly lines on something that was supposed to be a graph domain.

I was also dissapointed with the atmosphere in there - 5yr old azn kids putting on fart mufflers for their hondas. This is not a BMW tuner. It's a whatever I can get tuner. Be it honda or porche.
But now I know and they won't see me again.

Anyone believing their graphs really needs to do a reality check. Even turbo cars can barely gain that and they want us to believe it can happen on NA cars? no way!

dont know Greg and what I do know about Autothority is hearsay, nothing more than that. I really hate to judge a product before seeing the results for myself. Until then, it leaves me no choice other than to pull up the BS flag on this one

The porche' belongs to the owner of autothority, it did put out 700HP ... unfortunely, there is someone else who actually did the work on it. They paid to get frame.

Anyways, the car was totaled from a head on accident. Lucky the engine is on the rear ... and it's gonna be in a Boxster.
