although i have seen a million e46 cars with aftermarket headunits, i need to know what needs to be done so i can put an aftermarket head unit in my car.
here is the scenario:
i have a business cd in my car(2002 325Ci). my local shop said that if i take out the factory head unit and put an aftermarket one in, i will lose my ac/heat controls. i know that is not the case because like i said i have seen on this website a million cars with aftermarket head units. what needs to be done in order to retain my ac/heat controls???? my system is done with the exception of a headunit and i am buying an alpine one from my friend so i need to know. please respond and thank you in advance

all you need is a fill bracket and a wiring harness adapter, go to install bay behing Best buy and ask for parts.

It's pretty straight forward all you need is the correct harness, dash kit and antenna adaptor. No heater or ac wiring involved at all. If I was you I'd run away from that shop as fast as you can. It's a very basic and simple install about 30 min. max for any professional installer and that's retrieving all the tools and parts.
