Hello everyone,
don't kill me for this noob of a question, but it's been on my mind for a while... I was watching a video and as this m3 is pulling up before its 'drift/almost crash' (terrible driver) the blinkers are illuminated...

I thought maybe asking M3 drivers would explain this to me... I originally thought it was saying the sport mode is on... Not sure right now... Please respond with an answer as soon as possible! Hopefully this can be free off my mind sometime soon...

I don't think that those are the blinkers, but the brake lights instead. Later model LED tail lights have a feature that makes them brighter under panic stop situations. If you look closely you can see that the actual turn signal (the top clear section of the rear light assembly) is never illuminated.

Nono! You don't understand! I mean while the car is coming toward the camera... Look at the front blinkers... They look very orange... As though they're illuminated? or is that just a reflection? Coulda sworn I've seen it before on another E46 m3...

Those are his parking lamps. Since he has his headlights (and fog lights) on, his amber corners (parking lights) also turn on. They do seem brighter, but they aren't flashing, so it must be his parking lights.

Hope that explains.

Hmmm... That sounds as though it'd be right... They look more orange/yellow than the parkers I see on Bimmers round here... And the ones we have here are almost as bright as candles!

Wonder where I can buy something like that.

DRL's? I'm not sure if I'm totally understanding what you mean... I looked for E46 DRL on Google Images with no result... All I got was the Z4, E60 and E90 with the orange strip illuminated...

If anyone can find more information, please post... I really appreciate your help guys!

Always fun jumping on E46fanatics from school, hahaha.

if you pause the video at 0:04 to get a good look at his lights, all he has on are low beams, parking lights, and fog lights. the only amber or yellow i see is his parking lights, (first turn on the headlight dial) i have an 02 M3, and they look the same as his, they are clear corners but the bulb itself is amber/yellow.

Just pull the cable off from your normal parking lights (the ones that are lit on your sig picture), wait about 30 seconds and you'll see that the turn indicators will light up instead. Notice this will give you a headlight warning on your dashboard tho. Just ignore it or get someone to re-program the DRL's.

Here's a pic of my Euro-spec M3:

Yeah OP is kind of confusing me. Im not familiar w the euro models but I know all the e46s in the states have their "blinkers" illuminated at 1st and 2nd click.

I actually had mine programmed off, but I had them put back on bc I like the amber look

I confuse myself too, haha... Australia gets the EURO models... I see a few E46 m3's everyday and night, but I never seem to find one with those on :( I really appreciate all this, everybody, you've been helpful! CowleyBoy, once again, your car is freaking beautiful! And thanks for that in-depth reply...

Anybody know other methods of doing this?

However, I'm thinking about trying CowleyBoy's method
