Still feels as tight as new...

Can't say that for too many vehicles I've owned.

We all gripe and complain from time to time but I can honestly say that I was smiling yesterday.
I was on a deserted stretch of highway when I hit 100 and that car was tracking just as straight as a knife and as quiet as a church mouse inside.

BMW--"It smells like...VICTORY!"

Nice to hear you're not experiencing any major problems as you put the miles on your car.

BTW, I'm just curious if you've had any issues with the front suspension...specifically the front control arm bushings?

HA HA !:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I posted two threads over the last month about that issue.
I replaced the two front control arm bushings last month at
the cost of $280.
The dealership wanted $500+.
Rory, at Momentum motors in B'ham, told me that it had been an issue with the early 3's ('99-00) models.
He replaced them with larger bushings and it's been a sweet ride since then.
I certainly wished BMW had admitted an issue but I can't really complain after almost 70,000 miles on a wear and tear issue like that.
Rory said the problem usually starts around 50,000 miles with a vibrating steering wheel at 40-45 miles an hour, which is what mine was doing.
Hope this helps.

OIC....well, if it makes you feel any better...it's still an issue with "newer" E46's as well...I've had my front control arm bushings replaced twice.
