I am having a problem with my ac, one side warm air, the other side cool, but not cold air. I took it to a guy to check it out, apparently, the compressor reading is 4 degree Celsius, which should be fine. but he says the heater simply won't turn off, that's why the warm air blows from the passenger side. because he didn't have time to continue, he simply manually turn down the heater from under the hood of the car, effectively providing less hot air, thus cooler air from the passenger side for the time being. its a temporary fix until I bring the card back to him and have him take some parts out and examining it closer why the heater won't turn off. since I am clueless about these things, i'll just make sense of the logic of it. I notice I am using a lot more gas on my car lately. I don't know if it has to do with the idea that the heater has been on at all time. any thought?

try replacing the heater control valve:

What a stupid idea! AC problem, so just replace whole Coolant system. That won't fix the AC! Stop with your stupid suggestions! People want real answers, not stupid suggestions!

ok so heres a question??? when i turn my ac on it only blows out kinda cool air and when i put it on max it blows out warm air. but if you give it a lil while the ac will eventually turn on and work correctly for a few minutes then go right back to blowing out kinda cool air/warm air. think i need a recharge or is something else wrong here?

Why dont you try recharging with freon, you can get a can with a gauge for like 40 bucks. You could also get a can with die in it which will leak out (if you have leaks) to show where leak is coming from, then you replace part that is leaking. Sure everyone could use a cooling system refresh if you can afford it. But the way i just explained seems more logical to me.

Hmm, I seem to be having a similar problem. Initially AC seems to work normally, then while driving along I notice it is blowing lukewarm to slightly cookl air. I'll try turning the AC on and off (pressing the snowflake button) a few times over a period of a few minutes. I can hear the compressor coming on/off during that time. Eventually, it starts blowing nice cold air again.
It just started doing this the other day and again today.

Start by putting a set of gauges in it to find out what may be wrong.
Check to see that your Aux fan is working too.

Thanks a lot for your advice that helps me resolve the problem of hot air blowing AC System of my 2001 BMW 325Ci E46 Steptronic, just by setting the dial on 3 Blue dots instead of previously set 3 Red dots!
I get driver side cold air, and another side hot air in front window
What is reason for that my climate control do not give hot air driver side, only passenger side.
I set both side 24 Celsius, but driver side only blow cold air.
I anyone has solution, let me know.
My air condition works ok. So, I think, problem is in climate control or some valve do not open.

I have a slightly different issue
my AC blows cold air on both side but cannot seem to do so in a large amount
with low fan it works but once I blast it, the system doesn't seem to want to and Im stuck with a small amount of cold air
is this a leak or a problem that can be fixed with adding R134a?
