No experience w/ icelink here either, but I've had DICE for over 6 months now with no issues to date; definitely a solid product imo.

The ice>Link has not been offered since March '05 and replaced with the DICE. This is the kit you need:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=268

The DICE iPod Kit will integrate perfectly with your BMW and offer steering wheel control as well as ID3 text and charging of your iPod. Full CD Quality can be expected after installation. The DICE kits were redesigned from the ground up and are much more stable than the ice>Links.

The kit will come with everything needed w/ the docking cable. The iPod can be safely stored away in the glove compartment for 100% stealth installation and accessed completely from the steering wheel controls.

The DICE comes with a 15-foot cable length to reach anywhere in the vehicle you like. We have tutorials at the following links:

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Good question - you have your choice of the Standard DICE kit if you are looking solely for iPod integration. The kit also features an integrated AUX port for other devices.

This is the kit you would need:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW

The HD DICE integrates a High Definition Tuner in with the interface in order to receive HiDef AM and FM broadcasts with no subscription fee. The sound quality is amazing - AM is heard in FM and FM is heard in CD quality.

Feel free to contact me directly if you should have any questions on the kits.

is there a special version of this for icelink+ owners? my icelink+ board fried this afternoon. it ejected chunky white paste..
Yes - we have an upgade path for existing DICE and ice>Link Plus users:

DICE High Definition Radio w/ iPod Integration (BMW) - *UPGRADE*
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=25&products_id=612

Simply connect your trunk interface cable and iPod cable and you're on the road with iPod integration and HD Radio.

then my ipod cable will be too short right? i like to keep it next to the ebrake. where does the hd box go? it looks pretty big.

for 5 bucks more i might as well buy a whole new kit and play it safe.

does the dice have the alternator noise problem the icelink+ had? i still have a ground loop isolater hooked up on my radio interface connection

if i remember right i was using the radio interface because the trunk gave me louder clicks/pops when the track info changed

gugh i think i will just buy the whole kit and try it out

If going into the center console, yes. This is intended to keep the iPod in the glovebox. The DICE should not experience alternator noise after installation.

The kit is much more stable than the ice>Link units could ever be.
