i just read http://www.e46fanatics.com/faq/stereosaga.html . NICE write-up!

i have a mtx 4250d mono sub amp. ( http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-bZMkVANC0hq/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=130&I=236T4250D&o=m&a=0) i plan on using it for my jl audio stealthbox. the amp does accept speaker-level inputs (w/ the smart remote-lead feature) , however, the amp doesnt support balanced inputs which the bmw headunit has for outputs.

i figured, i'll tap into the head units rear speaker wires. according to David Bagby's article, it will be the headunit's 2 rear pre-amp'd outputs (pins 8, 16 and 29, 37). this way, i should be able to keep sound coming from the rear door speakers (for rear fill) with the stealthbox's bass and will be avoiding the amp's x-cover for the rear subs.

anyone have experience using a non-balanced supported amp with the factory headunit? if so, were any problems encountered? note: i dont plan on using a low level converter since my amp accepts speaker level inputs.
