look up dent repair in ur yellowpages. they have paintless dent removal for about 100 bucks per dent or panel.

hope it hasnt chipped the paint surface, and u should be OK

I doubt that a sledgehammer would be very effective... If you are not willing to pay someone else to do it, you could always order one of these and try your hand at it...
