Yes...True

No notice the whole crew got let go...sucks for the great workers that were still there. I'm sure they won't have trouble getting a better job though.

And to the owner...well you know where to go.

What are you guys talking about. HPF better not be going out of business, I just gave them a 5k deposit for a STG 2.5.

Where did you guys hear this from?

He wouldn't touch it even if you paid him 10g ...

seriously though just let the dust settle...talk with Derek about getting ahold of [email protected] to get your 5K Deposit back...the staff at HPF didn't know they were going belly up when they accepted your money. If contacting doesn't workout talk with you bank and get the ball rolling.

what hardware (no mention of the fancy intake manifold) do you get with a stage 1 HPF kit that you don't get with the MaxPSI kit that justifies the $4,000 price hike?

also, I don't believe saying initial r&d is why the kit costs so much. hardware on cars, for the most part, works all the same so once it's all bolted on, the hard part is the tuning. HPF paved the initial way with the AEM and MaxPSI paved the initial way with the stock DME. so if they both invested lots of time and money into tuning relatively similar hardware (not even taking into consideration paying Nick G, rather than having an AEM tuner in house), why does the HPF kit cost more?
You just answered your own question lol...the AEM.

^ I agree with you on the aspect that the kit in itself is a bit cleaner than the MaxPSI kit...but don't kid yourself the DME tune is a much better setup than the Aem Series 1 on many accounts...the MaxPSI/NickG tune on a current HPF car would be the way to go for all those with HPF cars currently...IMO.

I'm sure the guys at MaxPSI as well as NickG may be willing to accommodate to a degree.

I would take a FULL stand alone over a piggy back any day and I'd take a full stand alone over a stock dme tune as well (pending that it had the can bus fully reverse engineered/etc).

Each has its pro's, con's, etc.. but at the time the AEM V1 did its job well, NOW its antiquated.. for sure.
Yup but for 90% of users the stock DME tune will be better especially when there is a problem with the car as the check engine light will come on rather than having it stuck on with the piggy setup...its really a no bs setup obviously looses alot of functionality that a custom ems provides but retains all oem functionality that makes the car a bmw...however for me a full standalone would be best.

No meth is a bonus!...the OEM DME with flex fuel setup will be a big deal when it arrives.

Anyone saying the HPF kits are built to last are wrong. Your money was spent on a show kit. All that fancy **** was not needed. One reason I decided years ago to never buy from them was everything had their name on it. There was more HPF badges in cars than M.

No FI kits are built to last. Parts WILL need to be replaced or repaired. It's like that on any big hp builds.

The only difference between HPF and maxpsi is that HPF is to show you got a bigger credit limit and maxpsi will get where you need to go quicker and cheaper.

You are retarded to think that the parts in the HPF kit are not quality.

Tell me...what is so fancy about it?...seriously...look at the intake manifolds the swedes do...same style intake manifolds etc... Don't be a retard.

And as far as things being built to last...the only thing I've needed to replace in my kit have been moving parts related...which applies to everything else. Otherwise every bolt, every coupler, every manifold, line, etc... has been solid.

Oh and I've got stories about John, Chris K, and Champ/Joey/etc that would ****ing blow your minds.. stories of them offering to help when Chris B tried to screw me over.. some of their offers I just simply had to flat out refuse because I couldn't allow them to do that, it was to generous/etc.

If you think my car made it to mfest and ran a 10.56 in a week all with just Saad and Jason.. you're wrong. ProEFI, Saad AND John/Champ/Chris K all pulled together to make my car get to MFest on time.. I wasn't even friends with John.. I'd never spoken to him.. he called me out of the blue and said I want to help, tell me where to go.. I got this. My car went from parts on the floor to on the dyno in less than 48hrs... John asked that I not give him any credit for it.. NONE.. I think now's a good time that he get that credit..

This is Chris K, Champ and John in Arizona.. on a Saturday in 95 degree heat putting my car together.. I tried to offer them payment, they refused. They flew in, assembled the car, flew out.. less than 24 hours in Arizona. Like a ****ing bad ass traveling hit man.. building bad ass cars. Love those guys!
BOOM! Just in case somebody missed it over the stupid posts...

I think the impact of David was very minimal in the grand scheme of things.. its also important to note that the theft from David may have had an impact but how much of an impact did David as a whole have (his departure from HPF/etc).

David was a VERY WELL LIKED salesman, and had many trusted customers.. his theft may have been easily covered by the profits and sales he made.. theft is theft.. I'm not excusing it at all I'm just saying david leaving HPF may have caused more damage (he left before the theft was uncovered) than the actual theft itself.

David was skimming.. he was removing profits.. but up until the end those profits were just that.. profits.. he got in over his head in the end and if I had to guess probably cost HPF $15-$20k in actual hard loses (as in out of HPF's pocket).

He was squandering the margins.. but not straight up stealing parts and leaving with them, at least not until the end when he got in over his head with his scheme.

Leaning this on David is just a means of distracting you from the fact the company was being mismanaged as a whole. Deflecting blame. David didn't help but as we all know that wasn't the core of the issue.
Ain't that the ****ing truth! :thanks:
