how to tell 5500k, 6500k, 8000k halos

WTF? So I bit a few weeks ago and bought some rings from Jlevi. I was under the impression that the phosphyr halos (ddes) were a consistent product (color, packaging, fitment, etc). Now I am hearing that there are different colors? :yikes: Is this a new development as of a couple of weeks ago? If there were color choices, why was that not an option when I placed my order? I wish it were. Finally, back to my original question, how do I tell which color halos I have? :dunno: Yes, I know 8000ks are "bluer" but without anything to compare it to, how can I tell?!

I believe the originals were 8000 or something like that, then some 4500 kits came out, and now the standard kit is a 6000

OK, so is there a "build date" for the halos that could tell me what color I have?
I think you can tell buy the color of the wiring or something like that.
The answer is simple and has been discussed earlier.

8000K was the original color.
There were a large number of units shipped with that color.

During the middle of this, customers REQUESTED and different and less bluey color. But our manufacturing process was tweaked incorrectly and resulted in a 6500K color.

We are aware of this and have gone back to 8000K.

OK, so if I bought halos within the last month (may), then I can assume that my halos are 8000K?
DAMMNIT....I knew somthing was up with my halos color, they arent the xenon blue that I see in alot the pictures here on E46fanatics....this sucks :bawling: Mine look like those hideous Gen V DDEs
We thought you liked them. Please email us if you have any questions.
You may have received a slightly off color that wasn't supposed to even be included in the shipments.

Thanks:)
Oh are you kidding I love them to death, the look of them on my car ceases to amaze me. But after seeing alot of other peoples halos and the pics of your site, that really unique blueish/xenon color they give off seems to really be lacking on my set, i getting a little jealous... :mischief:
