Hi bimmerians,

As the title says , how to identify if i have a ZHP version or the normal 330i ?

And if not the ZHP how can i convert to ZHP in terms of performance (Not bothered about styling tho)

According to your bio, you have a 2001 - you do not have a ZHP. ZHPs were made from 03-05 sedans, 04-06 coupes/verts. You are also in UAE - the ZHP was only sold in North America.

But the easiest way to tell is to look at the instrument cluster, and see where the redline is. On standard 330's, the redline is 6500 RPM. On ZHP, it is 6750 RPM.

nuFF said! That pretty much confirms that i am on standard 330i :)
Well Thank YOU !!

Cams
Steering Rack
Control Arms
Exhause
3.07 Differential
Add heavier wheels or buy 135M to kill all your gains
Flash ECU to 6850rpm redline

Honestly, the performance differences are minimal. Couple tenths of a second quicker and only 10hp more. Not sure what you are looking for, but for the money it might not be worth spending a grand or two to squeak out a little bit of performance.
Tbh, i was looking for an performance upgrade and after some research its been found that the shark injector is the easiest to gain some HP's. But sadly its only 4 HP gain for the standard 330i, where as for the ZHP its 14HP. So i was just thinking for a moment , why dont a ZHP convert and then shark :D.
Just for 349$ price tag for shark only 4 hp gain aint worth it in my opinion.

on your '01 330i I wouldn't worry about trying to emulate the ZHP package performance. You can easily surpass it with other mods like software, diff ratio change, Koni/Bilstein dampers. if you have Sport Package (ZSP) you're already 3/4 there.

It's more that some of us try to control certain people who are ignorant about BMWs and cars in general that think the ZHP has unique performance parts, particularly talking steering and suspension. A lot of you new people to this site have missed out over the years where people have made outrageous claims about ZHP racks, control arms, etc. spreading false information and have then been ground into dust when they try it on here.

The ZHP is definitely a nice options package and you should buy one if you find it in good condition for a good price. More of an incentive to do so at used car prices. But one should certainly not limit their search to just ZHPs if they are able to find a nice ZSP 330. That ZHP price premium is better spent on maintenance items anyway which would easily give that ZSP 330 the performance advantage that was being sought after.

Yes very much it is and i already have 2.93 diff i believe unless i bent down my head and verify it ;)

3.46 is available, not that much of a difference. As explained before, the 3.38 came out of an automatic (non zhp) 330.
Your car has a 2.93. The ZHP has a 3.07, but upgrading to that probably won't even be noticeable. Going to a 3.38 or 3.46 will give you shorter gears, meaning you will gain a very small amount of acceleration performance.
What about 3.64, 3.73 and 3.91 ?

Based off your other questions, I need to ask.... are you putting your car around a track or do you just want to have more power on the street?
No no track and stuff. Just on the road ..need that extra horses, wanna compete with my fellow mates coming with Lexus , Dodge, Ford and to name a few. :p

Pointless if you aren't tracking your car. You are going to spend thousands of dollars trying to make your car fast. These cars are dated bud, you could sell your car and buy an M3 for the amount of money it would cost to make a 330i relatively quick. The best things with these cars are the design. Keep it maintained well and make it look good, that should be your priority.
True.

Making these cars fast without needing to, is not wise. In fact I'm thinking about putting my 2.93 back in just to make highway driving a little more quieter and get my mpg up a tad.
Yeah the only option is FI i believe to make these car faster.

ZHP automatic has better software (higher redline and quicker shift). I was told you can code your regular GM transmission with the ZHP software. this is like getting a free tune for your transmission. dinan/ecs charges like over $400 for a steptronic tune.

ZHP also have the red color needle in the speedometer
