Hi, I have a 2002 BMW e46, I have the BMW Reverse radio (tape/cassette only, no CD room in the trunk), how do I get bluetooth in the car? I have tried a few fm transmitters (the one you put in the cigarette lighter) and they so bad, and I think 200$ is to much for a navi :) Help!

Give it up bro, your system needs an update. Although the new navi will be a bit expensive, you will find it worth it when you use its perfect gps navigation, music system and wonderful carplay functions. I got my new radio two months ago. It works so great. Although I did complain and didn't stop cursing while installing it because it took me total two hours to finish it. But I love it so much now.

If your radio has the aux in option, an inexpensive bluetooth module off epay works well enough for the stock radio.
If it doesn't have the input, but has a remote CD changer option (it'll say in the boot/trunk) then the slightly
more expensive ($55 us, last I bought) dongle works fine.
Bluetooth is pretty lo-fi to start with, as is the stock radio, and unless you're running .wav files anyway, the
inexpensive modules won't be the weak link in the chain.

yes, does this for a living.

I've had a really good experience with my JVC KD-T805BTS, but since you also have the cassette radio and are looking to stick to the cheaper option I'd say grad one of those adapters. They're not expensive, don't have any janky connection issues, and you won't need to bother changing the frequency every time you drive through the city.

I know this is now a moot point, but the Reverse radio cannot support any of the myriad of options for Bluetooth on the E46. BMW decided that for some reason it was reasonable to build a radio that would not support AUX or a CD Changer, so even if you directly connect it, there's no "MODE" or "CD" button switch with!

The CD53 would've been a plug and play upgrade on the cheap, but it looks like your aftermarket solution is working well for you.
