I have a problem on my 318 that I think is related with valvetronic operation.

Car stalls sometimes when warming up. power and MPG are pretty bad.

Actually I'm not sure valvetronic works at all, because I was driving few days with disconnected sensor and didn't feel difference.

Today I disconnected everything from throttle body to look at it.

Throttle was almost closed at idle, would open when revving engine. I wouldn't be surprised if it was any other engine, but isn't valvetronic supposed to control air flow to engine?

I think throttle body controls air flow during warm up and valvetronic failure.

Am I wrong? should it open/close when stepping on gas?

The engine is controlled by the engine computer (ECU). You can't determine if one part or another is properly operating by looking at it! You need to have the codes read first.

(Un)fortunately there is no error. I don't have advanced scanning software like BMW DIS, but scanner tool does not throw anything.

But anyway, isn't whole point about valvetronic that it does not relay on throttle?
