i'm talking about the relays some people use for lighting, or like dde/dae.

From what I've observed they realy power in different paths towards different light sources. Ex: Fog lights:dunno:

A relay is like a very very heavy-duty transistor - its main purpose is to let a small current switch on a large current. It usually achieves this by running the small current through an electromagnet, which pulls an element inside the relay to connect and switch on the larger current. This way, if you have an electrical device that takes a lot of electrical power, such as the starter, you can turn it on it with a smaller switch (to be able to manually switch [email protected], you'd need a pretty hefty switch).
