I am having a mofo of a time getting the brake caliper to release so I can take it off and change the brake pads. I read my330i.com DIY guide, e46fanatics DIY and Bentleys. I took out the 2 7mm caliper retaining bolts and took the cover off of the brake master cylinder but I am afraid to grab the caliper and yank it off. Certainly I am missing something. Where do I exert pressure to retract the caliper??? Please help. I installed my own ESS Supercharger, PSS9's, UUC Sways, and a bunch of other stuff and have learned that if you are trying to force something, you are doing it wrong... What am I missing???? THANK YOU...

If you have a C clamp you can try pressing against the outside of the caliper and the inside of the old brake pad. It's ok to be a little rough with it too.

I finally got the caliper off after removing the anti rattle clip. That loosened the brake pads and caliper up just enough to wiggle them out. Thanks stahlgrau for the reply.
