Not really a waste of money when it would bring you to near M3 performance levels for a fraction of the cost.I'm happy with the power my E46 has. If I really wanted more power, I wouldn't waste my money on a supercharger, I'd sell my car and buy an M3 haha.
That, and you claim to be on top of maintenance, meaning the imaginary "budget" M3 you'd purchase would have to go through an entire overhaul.
