Hello all,

This is the beginning of the new HR meet thread. Here we will discuss our regular meets and try to make sure they go as smoothly as possible.

Please keep the posts on topic. We have our main thread for all the fun stuff. Post here about plans, ideas, and routes to maybe take.

For anyone new, check out some of the previous meets here:

Alright, for the next meet

We need:

A Date Saturday, Nov 21

A time NOON

A place
Cheeseburger In Paradise - Advantage is possible perks from the restaurant, big parking lot. In VA Beach to go other places.

The Drive
Road to Knotts Ferry in NC - It is a fun drive. A little less than from VA Beach. 3 hours total drive at most. Here is a Map
Pungo - We went once before and it was a blast. We have to be careful though, and anything above 15 cars gets tedious and dangerous.
Willoughby Harbor Marina - Glenn says "dope dusk rolling shots"
Drive to Sand Bridge
Drive to Eastern Shore (Across Chesapeake Bay Bridge)

Suggestion for the next meet: Meet up somewhere park-like and throw some burgers on a grill and hang out, BS, eat, shoot photos and whatever for a couple hours... then go for a cruise with a route pre-planned by someone who knows whatever area we meet up in the best. Having the route printed on paper would do some good, as well as going for said cruise during a low-traffic time. Stop off somewhere for dinner, and break away to all head home from there.

Hows this sound time wise? we need to stick to a precise schedule to keep this thing in order:

12:00-1:00 people start showing up/meeting together/ pre-cruise for the two different areas to the meeting location sounds fun
1:00-3:30 food, bs, photos, etc.
3:30-5:30/6:00 drive
5:30/6:00-7:00 dinner with the group and then head out/more photos and bsing

what about meeting at the Closed down Circuit city on Independence and Virginia beach BLVD we can also take picture there. There is a Wendy's and a Mcdonalds on right there also to get a snack from. Then cruising down to the Knotts Island Ferry from there and riding that across. Then crusing up to some where to eat from there.

That I would disagree with. These aren't money making or serious events. The timing is best left to happen naturally. The meet lasts until everyone is bored, the food lasts until everyone is full, and etc.

The problem is making sure we already have a place to eat, and a drive to make and etc... I like to be relaxed, working around a schedule is what we get paid to do, not what we do for fun.

If we do a VA Beach meet, who was it that got the business cards and talked to the manager of the Cheeseburger in Paradise we went to? Would that be a good place to start?

I don't know how the word got around so well, but lets make sure it does again. I know these are dedicated e46 forums, but if we post around a bit, and get the info out there it could be a good time.

or the tacobell. haha.

i like that idea alot, just because a.) everyone can grab food on the way to meeting @ the CC parking lot and hang out and eat there... b.) it would make a sick photo because there's no other cars there.. and c.) it gives people more of an option to wander around when everyone arrives, which is nice. i don't like being stuck at a table somewhere because i can't hear anyone talk, and i like to wander.

i'll be sure to bring a wide-angle lens w.me next time... esp with the turnout that we had.

I thought we agreed that we'd alternate between Sundays and Saturdays because of everyone's changing schedules?

...which would mean that this time it's a Saturday. I like doing it on Saturdays because then we can all get together somewhere and drink/be merry and not have to work Sunday morning.

We will have to decide between the Sats and the Sundays. I have no preference, but it will be a majority rules thing. We all have days taken up with things, so someone is always going to be left out either way.

Football isn't a very good reason, either you want to do that or you don't. I love football, and I wanted to watch more games than I did, but the meet was well worth missing all of it.

Most of our meets have been on Sundays, but we have done Saturday too.

If we want to do the restaurant, we would just start there. The way the manager was talking, he wanted us to be in that parking lot to show off, so I would guess we just show up there and do whatever.

Now, if we wanted to skip that and do CC so people can just eat fast food and skip the restaurant part altogether that would work as well.

Keep em comin.

I agree, football isn't a good reason to change the whole meet. I would love to come either way, sat. or sun.
