Hi guys!
Just bought a 320i touring (b22) Auto as a daily.
Transmission is making some weird noises…it’s all the excuse I need really to swap in a 6 speed.
The GS6-37BZ is the obvious choice. What I’m confused about is between 2 variants. I have a chance to get a good deal on a GS6-37BZ THEA from a Z4 petrol m54.
I realise the THEG is from the e46, but what difference is there?
I will put in a b30 swap down the track to justify the swap.
I’ve searched but can’t find an answer here.
Any help is appreciated, guys.

I've been trying to find an answer for this myself as well because I'm doing a manual swap on my e46, 01 330ci. I went ahead and bought the GS6-37BZ-THEA because my uncle's friend (mechanic) told me the transmission should bolt directly up to the car so i went ahead and bought one from junkyard (all i could find).

I haven't started the swap yet but I'm currently am searching for other parts. I'm curious before i even continue, did you find an answer yet?

your best bet is RealOEM - pick the two chassis that came with either trans and compare parts
Physically it will bolt on to any M54 (if it came from an M54 car) I'm guessing its going to be within the clutch/ throwout bearing configuration.
