I recently got a set of General UHPs (235/40/18) wrapped on 18x8.5" wheels and my friend made a comment about the tread depth. He said it seemed shallow and when I took a look, he seemed to be right. I never bothered to take that close a look before.

Anyone with these tires care to comment? I don't think 235s need to be stretched to fit a 8.5" wheel, but maybe I'm wrong.

The "Tread Depth" of your General UHP's is 10/32", and the 235/40's are perfect for you 18x8.5 wheels. :thumbsup:

I guess they're about right then. I suppose I was just looking for some third-party assurance, so thanks.

How about inflation characteristics? I'm pretty sure the chart of my door jamb is no longer valid with the new tires. I have all four of my tires at 36psi at the moment.

That's perfect inflation. ~35psi
