Hi all,

Some advice please. One of my headlights went out and I'm not sure what bulb I need as a replacement.

My ride is a 330XI:
JS94986
https://www.bmwvin.com

Headlight:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=ES53-USA-12-2000-E46-BMW-330xi&diagId=63_0550

So, no 7 should be what I want to replace but it also says:

07 Bulb Xenon light PHILIPS D2-S 2 07119904790 $129.62
Not suitable for ZKW
07 Bulb Xenon light D2-S 35W 2 63217160806 $212.43

What s ZKW?
I'm not sure what replacement I should get.

Can somebody post a link to a cheap replacement bulb on rockauto please?

Thanks,
fanatic

If you're not the original owner, be careful going off the vin...it may have been changed.

Perhaps post pic of your headlight...and/or remove the bulb and post pic of that.

Hm, not sure what the differences are. Based on realOEM I thought I have Xenon lights.

The H7 bulb is halogen. If that's what you have, that's what you got to use.

Remove the bulb by turning 1/4 turn (or less) counterclockwise on the white clips in front of where the bulb is plugged in. You'll squeeze down on the connector on a little tab and it should pull off easily. The bulb will be mounted inside that fitting...if you have a halogen.

HID = xenon lights. There are 3 types of HID bulbs: D2S, D2R, D1S. If you have HID bulbs, it will be a D2S bulb type because E46s don't use D2R or D1S.
Halogens are the typical bulbs you find at most auto stores.....H7, H3, 9006, 9005, H4, etc.
