Essentially I made an ass out of myself, trying to spin the tires. Well, all I spun was the clutch. It smelled horrible. Now after driving for 50 miles, it still stinks......:banghead: Just how much damage did I do?:dunno: :ben:

:tsk: Just remember if you are gonna do it, just drop it. People make the mistake of just trying to bring it out, just pull your foot off it. Don't worry I doubt you did that much damage.

I hate to be a bearer of bad news, but besides burning the clutch, you could also be damaging your flywheel as well. Now if this only happens once or a couple of times you probably won't shorten the life of your clutch and flywheel by enough that you will notice, but if you do this often enough you will loose them quick.

i've fried my clutch more times than Ozzy has screamed SHARRON, but anyhow, who cares... free clutch for the next 3 years and 9 months :)

I hope you don't believe that. If you dump clutches more then Dennis Rodman changes his hair color your in for an expensive surprise.

What were your RPM's like? This has happened to me once before, one problem was that I forgot to turn my DSC off, the clutch smelled horrible. With DSC off, I have never smelled clutch when smoking the tires.

I fear you're right. The dealer will scream owner abuse and unless you can prove premature clutch failure that warranty doesn't mean crap.

I really doubt the dealer covers the clutch, pretty sure that is one of the items they won't cover. just because then everyone under warranty would drop their clutch on every light cause they can just get a new one

they will cover it, i looked in their little " black book of covered maintainance" and it clearly states clutch is covered as long as its below certain specifications. It falls under maintanance and not warrenty fiy.
