Anybody ever remove this stuff??? Does it really deaden the sound of the engine a whole lot...

and if you remove it... is it really looud???

anybody got pics of theirs removed???

Ask Tim...he's done it...and I believe he said that it really doesnt make that much of a difference and saved something like 50 lbs...

I have not removed that, I removed the sound dampening in the trunk. There was a tread on this and it was theorized that it was there to protect the hood paint and absorb some of the engine heat. I don't think anyone has tried it.

mine is gone...just have bare CF underneath...no problems...motor sound is increased slightly

haha, i wanna try this.... a cheap way to make ur car louder....
if you remove it, will the hood get really hot?

hmmm... im not too worried about the engine noise... but the heat factor does come into play.

but, john from jersey has his removed from a CF hood with paint and has had no problems... and i would thik that the CF would be a little more delicate than the steel hood...

maybe ill do a little more searching
