Just bought my first BMW, 2002 330ci, and am looking for some wisdom regarding preventative maintenance.

My buggy has 158k, is a five-speed and bone-stock in every way.

What suggestions do you have for "must do" PM tasks? No service records beyond first inspection at dealership.

Also, any suggestions for an indy shop in the Twin Cities (MN) area? I have the list from several of the bimmer sites, just wondering if anyone has a favorite.

Thank you.

I would swap out the entire cooling system yesterday -- as the failure rate of various parts in the system is essentially 100% -- especially at these ages.

- Thermostat
- Waterpump
- Coolant Expansion Tank
- Radiator
- All necessary hoses
- Belts and Pullies on the front of the motor
- BLUE BMW coolant
- Don't forget to bleed it.

Thereafter, I would look at replacing

- Both upper and lower intake boots
- Clean throttle body & ICV
- Replace entire CCV system
- Valve Cover Gasket
- Spark Plugs
- Vanos Seals

That would be a good *start*

Thereafter there is suspension which definitely needs help at this point & time and then trans and rear diff oil, etc., etc.,
