Hi,

I haven't serviced it since buying a few months ago, now it is due.
I was trying to figure out what an "oil service" is meant to be.

Is it literally just an oil & filter change, or do BMW recommend doing more?

Once I do this, how long (km/time) until inspection I or II will pop up?

Change it every 10000 and ignore the 25000km next oil change when you reset the light.

Good idea and use any LL01 spec XW40 oil

Details should be in your service handbook as well. Usual stuff of checking fluids, belts, cabin filter and (I think) air filter.

Depending on your mileage, you may wish to look up some of the preventative maintenance threads in the General / DIY sub-forums.

Found the info. Funny that my brake fluid & coolant are both 2½ years old, but inspection I or II is not due. I guess you've got to manually keep an eye on these things.
