hey guys, car is in the audio shop for an audio overhaul, so for the time being i was scouring the interwebs to find any examples of e46 with hot dog resonators. NO info or video clips whatsoever :banghead: so i was hoping members on here had any experiences with them on their e46..preferably 330ci. im hoping to take it to an exhaust shop once its out for a custom true dual quad tip exhaust system.

Also to save making another thread does anyone know the best place either local or online where i can find 2.75"-3" titanium burnt tips??

I dont know how else to say this other than Wtf is a hot dog resonator? Lol. you're probably not finding any information because no one uses the term 'hot dog'.. I'm not really sure what you are referring to but i'm guessing cut off resonator and install straight pipes.. You should find what the correct term for 'hot dog resonator' is and search that.

That is the correct term, they are just resonators in the shape of a hot dog.

I think you are better off leaving the exhaust alone and just changing the box at the end. Quad tips on a non m from what I have seen here is not a trivial job.

I had a couple on my cortina in line back in the day. They were 4" outer diameter, 2.75 inner diameter with 3" flanges glass filled. It didn't make it any quieter but it did stop a bit of drone inside the car with no loss of power.

yeah theyre called glasspacks in alot of circles.
ive always known them to be hotdogs.
theyre popular among the v8 community. ive had one on my wrx it sounded great.
they arent designed to muffle theyre designed to eliminate drone..which ive heard do very well hence my interest in them..

If you want a quality exhaust system talk to Johnny, he can get you a quad exhaust remus/eisenmann replica from thailand. He runs a quad exhaust setup on his non-M coupe. Can't vouch for anything else I'm afraid.
