Just picked one up from the devil's playground (aka best buy) because (1) I've already had a hardwired one stolen, and (2) need the lighter socket for other things like keeping beer cold (for the beach, no flames please). Any opinions, comparos, etc?

I bought it and then returned it for the 8500 because it didnt meet expectations for range and sensitivity. Cordless is impin: though.
