Is it to early to start engine mods in the first few weeks of ownership? If so, when should I consider starting the mods?

Man, your going to want to 'get on it' after you put those things on! ...but you can't (shouldn't) since you need to break your car in.

For that reason alone I would wait at least a little while.

differential w/ LSD
I may not be all that great with cars, but I coulda swore that a differential had something to do with your transmission?:dunno: There aren't any chips out there yet that add any horsepower (for '01? and up BMWs), it may reaise your rev limit, but you shouldn't be going over 4.5K rpm for a little while anyway.

An LSD doesn't really have anything to do with the transmition.
