I just recently picked up a 2001 330ci cabrio. I originally wanted a sedan, but the cabrio came as an opportunity and I jumped on it. I want to take road trips and such but the rear seats in the cabrio are just so small and uncomfortable for a bigger guy. I recently saw that the e90 cabrio solved these issues with a wider space and more leg room. I know that there is the hump for the e46 rear seats because of the gearbox for the convertible top's motor, but I'm brainstorming on how it can be relocated. I've put some photos below of both rear seats to kind of make it easier for people to ponder. I don't plan to do this soon, but it is definitely a plan I have with this car. If I end up doing it I'll update here with my results.

I don't see how that will work. If you need to carry 4 big people, get a sedan. Two in the back of cab is ok for short trips.

Well... welcome.
Even if (when) you do get this to work, there is no way you're increasing the legroom.
Is the blue one a pic of your ride? Nice
