E46 M3 SMGII & K&N airfilter

I just got the K&N Airfilter in and went for a test ride:

when downshifting, the software in charge of the synchronization pinions makes the engine go a lot higher in rpm  than stock which sounds really not normal at all :dunno: . As if the engine was too loaded with air.
Eventhough it's only the OEM filter which has been replaced the engine sound out of the hood is highly pitched

If someone has experienced the same thing or if it's normal please share  don't wanna break such expensive toy :pimpin:
