Hello Dear Bimmers,
Does somebody know if e46 M3 mirror housings/covers/casings for the side mirror (the big plastic oval thing which houses the mirror itself, the actuator, and everything else) are exchangeable with the e39 M5 ones? I have an e39 with OEM M5 mirror retrofitted and the passenger side cover is in really bad shape. I'm looking to replace it, but the e39 M5 covers are very scarce and pricey. e46 M3 mirror covers are more common. Also this things do not have part numbers according to ETK parts catalogue (I mean the M5, don't know about M3).
So does somebody have info if these covers are exchangeable? Any first hand experience would be very much appreciated.
