Software download and installation?

once you download these 3 zip files how do you combine them for installation. My pc reverts with message that file is incomplete. If there anywhere to download as one file?

Sorry for any ignorance, this article is great and I will be following it tomorrow. However, where is the attachment located for "PDF - Using NCS Expert to recode VIN to donor ABS Module"

Thanks,
Rob

I'm currently uploading a combined NRG file - you will need ISO Workshop (free edition - linked) to create the install directory (image) or disk. I'll post the link here when it's complete. It's about 340MB so be patient.

The package is an NRG file. You will need ISO Workshop (free edition - linked) to create the install directory (image) or disk.

The file is 347,183 Kb

Here's the link: Single NRG file for the complete BMW Standard Tools Suite

Thank would appreciate it I'm not much of an expert working with joining files so one download would be great.

I had the three lights come on all of a sudden while parked idling in a parking lot one day and I had to replace my ABS Control Module or (Control Unit ASC) as BMW calls it on my 02 330i. It was buried down on the driver's side, and the replacement I picked up was from another 330i that someone was parting out. To my surprise after installing it the lights went off and it did not need to be programmed, 6 years later and still going strong (knock on wood)!

Not that it's necessary, but if you were to get the module read for errors I'm betting it pops up. The module is VIN coded so although you might not have cluster light errors there will still be a module/VIN mismatch error stored in the ABS/DSC module.

Hi All. Just a follow up. I was successful in both initialising the unit with the cars VIN through NCSExpert and was able to complete the LWS job through Inpa.

Mine was slightly different as it was coming up as a MK60 unit (I think that's what it was) rather than ASC in both programs. Once I worked that out, the job was completed in a few minutes.

Thanks BMW-North for your help

I'm not having success in downloading the single file tool kit. I mean I can download it install the Daemon tools and open the installer file and move through the setup but during the installation I get an environment PATH error. C:/EDIABAS/BIN in PATH not found! Anyone have this error? BTW I'm trying to figure out my triple yellow lights in the cluster!

Did you add that environment variable to your computer path?

Edit: Added

Thank you! That worked. Now I'm getting the "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows your running"... I can get the "Mike's BMW Tools" to run on this windows 7 that I have but this one won't bite. I can also get PASOFT to work too. Any ideas?

BMW Standard Tools was designed to work on Win XP. You could try running it in a virtual Win XP on Windows 7 but if it were me and this is what I did - I shelled out $50 (inc shipping) and bought a pretty lame native Win XP laptop off eBay and it installed flawlessly - I have no need to put anything else on that machine - I use it exclusively for BMW Standard Tools and therefore the environment stays stable.

Here's a DIY Install for Win 7 from the e90 crew:

Daemon tools does not work without the .NET framework 4.5. .NET framework 4.5 cannot be downloaded to a XP OS... does this seem right?

Edit: Its called PowerISO and it solved my problem!
I was gonna suggest you read here - Post #10-12

BTW the first error you get just click ok - It is a link to an intranet install help site in Munich and the URL is outdated.

Edit: This seems like a logical spot to upload these:

Thanks very much for this- I got the ABS module in the rat 330ci coded, finally. The 2wd of my generation
gets the Teves mk60, but as long as you know this going in, it all makes good sense.

I'm up to 3 versions of INPA now- I'm out of disk partitions, so I guess that's all I need!

Good stuff Toby. Bigger HD maybe?

On this tiny little Netbook? Like you, I've relegated it to only E46 (and that generation) maintenance, so I don't want to mess with success!

It's mind- boggling to an old geezer like me that I think a 7 year old computer is an antique, but a 16 year old car's still 'new' to me....
