i have a question....

are the e46 and e36 prices comparable? my question is are they about the same price when they first come out... or are the cars getting more expensive?

just wanted to know.... cause i cant find anywhere how much the e36's was when they first came out.

e46 323 with e36 318

e46 325 with e36 325

e46 330 with e36 328

e46 M3 with e36 M3

the e36 coste around 67,000 starter price.. i read that off of a m3 website.. and it sounds pretty right.. cause i do remember the m3s being a lot more money then they are now...

No thats not right, it was ~35K for the Coupe, the prices have risen at a steady rate, usually models cost about 400-600 dollars more a year.

from what I recall the e36 brand spanking new back then was anywhere from $38k - 45K.... Just about the price range of today's new e46 330

This may surprise some but the E46 represents a better value than the E36. It comes w/ more standard features, is roomier & more luxurious, has more safety features, & also features the maintenance warranty.

As for price, accounting for inflation, the E46 is cheaper than the E36. I know both the 99 328i & the 98 328is was $34 K base. I don't know the price of the E36 sedan but assume that it's $1 K cheaper than the coupe. As such, E46 328i - $34 K vs. E36 328i - $33 K.
