Hi, I have an 02 325ti the DSC and Brake warning lights have been yellow for about 6 months now it doesn't seem to have any impact on how the car drives but my M.O.T. is due in a few days and I've been told the DSC is an instant fail. I was told the speed sensors can be the cause of this so I've replaced them but the lights remain on. I've bought a c110 code reader and it's giving me the following errors in the attached picture. I've tried clearing them but they just come back, does anybody have a clue what the solution may be?? Thanks

possible your wheel speed sensors might be dirty or failed. Try an undercarriage wash, and see if the lights turn off- this worked for my old 325xi as the wheel speed sensors were crusted with dirt and other crap from driving in deep snow. Looking at your code reader, it could be a number of other things. I would also check your battery voltage with a voltmeter if you can. Better yet, you can take it to an auto parts store and test your battery. A bad battery can also cause the DSC/Brake lights on the dash.

Fault lights may be because that steering angle inplausible fault code.
Do you remember was there any work done for front suspension or steering parts?
Sometimes if you replace track rods for example or steering guibo, steering angle sensor goes off from its calibration. Then you will have fault lights as you described.

One time when my rear brake pad was broken in pieces, DSC system went in fail mode and i had similar fault lights.
Fault code was steering angle sensor, and i had to reset it with DIS (BMW Diagnostics software).

It would be good to read codes with BMW-specific software, (DIS, INPA, ISTA) for example.
With DIS you can also do steering angle sensor calibration if necessary. Note! Wheels must be in absolutely straight position when you are doing this calibration.

I am not sure if you can do it with PA-soft or bmw-scanner, i think those are more popular in United states. I live in Europe, most of us use INPA or DIS.

If you have several unrelated DSC fault codes that won't clear and aren't fixed by replacing related sensors, it might well be a bad ABS module. Several places in USA rebuild them for around $100. I used a MyAirBags.com listing on ebay to repair the ABS module in my 2002 530i a few years back.

Looking at ABS live data with INPA would certainly help troubleshooting here.

Had any steering or suspension work done on the car right before the lights came on? I just replaced my steering rack and tie rods and both lights came on immediately after. I'm in need of an alignment now which is why mine came on. Steering wheel is at about a 10 degree angle when going straight and it's enough to trip these lights. Whats your alignment look like currently?
