Ive been toying with black grilles for some time now, and some other things too. Whilst scouring the net (for black badges actually) I came across this Lexus forum:

http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ems-plastidip-no-emblem-removal-required.html

Now Ive had some plastidip in my garage for a few months to sort out some interior pieces: http://www.plastidip.co.uk/

However, after seeing the link I thought I'd give it a go. Have a loo and see what you think.

Benefits: cheap, easily reversible as it peels off, little prep, gives a good matt finish.

No sanding, just washed, dried, paint and dry again. I applied two decent coats. It took a couple of tries to get it on smooth, but it looked great after. Plus if you ever need to, you can just take it right off.

so rocks etc.. just bounce off?

how about bugs that get stuck... do you end up messing up the finish trying to get them off?

i've used plasti dip for a couple things... didn't seem that durable to me...
am I worng?

Rock chips haven't been an issue to me, so I guess they just bounce off. As for bug/pollen, I just lightly scrape it off and wipe it, looks fine to me. Besides, if it does come off, you can just reapply it

I wonder if its a bad idea if I do this to my window trim too, instead of shadowline. there is absolutely no trace of it when you reverse the process?
