all you need is a screwdriver.
theres like 3 or 4 screws you have to remove from the wheel well that will give you access to your filter.
once you have it open, its no problem getting to the clamp that holds the filter to the tube.

anyone have pics of the front fender well removed (preferable with a dinan intake)? I'm trying to figure out if there will be enough room to get to the 8mm screws holding the filter support plate. I really want to remvoe this thing without taking off my front bumper!

you dont have to remove the plate to clean the filter, how come you want the plate out?
