I have a 2000 328ci and am looking for a used Dinan intake( I want the carbon pipe ). What should be included in the kit?

-Do I need the Bi xenon bracket? I have HIDs... :dunno:
-Will an intake from a 330 or 325 fit with out mods?
-What does the sock do?
-Can I use shark software instead of the dinan? there is no dinan dealer around here and cant have my car down for 2 days.

I did a search but could not find exactly what I was looking for. I know this has been beaten to death but I couldnt find any clear answers...

Thanks all!

Here is what is included w/ the Dinan CAI sytem...
3 1/2" Intake Tube
Air Filter w/ clamp
Silicone Hose
Air filter bracket
Air flow meter bracket
80-100mm Hose clamp
90-100mm Hose clamp
Speed nut & screw
Xenon Headlight Bracket

This is what I got from my Installation Instruction manual... Part # D760-0400 (I have the carbon fiber tubing)

Yes, you need to take out the ballast and use the bracket and install the ballast where the OEM air box use to be.

-Will an intake from a 330 or 325 fit with out mods?
It will fit, but the 330ci uses a bigger silicone hose I think.

-What does the sock do?
The sock is placed over the air filter to block water from getting sucked in.

-Can I use shark software instead of the dinan? there is no dinan dealer around here and cant have my car down for 2 days.
From what I have seen or heard on this board, you can run the Shark w/ the dinan CAI.

Hope this helps, if you need anything else, let me know...

Great, Thanks!

Does the OEM wiring work for the ballast or does it need to be extended?

Can the OEM "snorkle" be removed? ( goes from airbox to grille )

Anyone have anything else to add?

Thanks again!

you do NO modification to the ballast, you just relocate it in order to make room for the intake tube. in my for sale ad you can see that you can use the e46 m3 ballast cover.
yes the snorkle can be removed. sorry, mine is sold. 323/325/328 all use the same coupler.
