The item that causes all of the problems is the steering column. On RHD cars the exhaust has to fit around the steering column, whereas with the LHD cars the exhaust has more room to fit. Hence the different exhaust flange angles.

 

I edited your post and added a link to the part. The listing says “RHD ONLY”, which is what you want. Right?

I would expect them to be different because of the steering column on rhd cars being on the exhaust side.

Even the procedure for changing the upstream O2 sensors on a RHD car is different than on LHD cars because the manifold layouts are different.

 

Hi, did you manage the exhaust at the end? I ordered it for my convertible (LHD) and I am not sure if it will fit my car.

 

Didn't order since I am at uni at the moment and don't have the car here. But I couldn't find any other information about exhaust systems that only fit LHD och RHD E46. The only thing I think malian says is that they can't guarantee it since they havent tested it on a LHD car.

I started communication with Malian, and they have never had any claim due to fitment from EU and sold a lot of sets here. So I will test it asap and let you know how it works!

 

hi, well I mamage to fit the exhaust on m EU convertible and it fit, but in middlesection the exhaust was a bit more away from the car that i want to. I try a ride with exhaust and sound was very loud and for me usuitable lets say. So I sold the whole exhaust and buy only rear muffler from powersprint germany. Now Im satisfied with the sound for my cabrio. It is a bit louder, but nothing disturbing
