May have found a good rear diff for my car.

its out of a step 328, 3.46, 2000MY, 40,000 miles.

he described it as the "differential carrier"

this is what i need correct? it will replace my 3.15 rear diff.

As fitting for the date and to avoid confusion, just ask if it's the whole pumpkin.

Seriously, when you get the entire diff. it's usually referred to as the whole pumpkin.

i called them back, it seems to be the real deal, all gears etc are included inside.

step and manual have different ratios for rear differentials, sharif.

my manual and urs are both 3.15, all 323 328 and 325 steptronic cars have 3.46

it will be direct bolt on :thumbup:

i dunno, i signed up with one of those online junk yard search things

i input three different searches, for 323 328 and 325 step cars respectively

got a response, called, 275 plus shipping, done

my goal was to get it at 450 plus shipping, i almost shat myself when he said 275, and i had to ask a bunch of questions to make sure that he has the whole thing, not jsut the casing, or mounting or anything, hence my question at the begining of this post

but it appears to be the real deal, he says it has 40k miles on it... but we will see its a price i couldnt pass up
