1000 mile oil change. It took this long to blacken, anyways synthetic is cheap here,i am trying to clean the engine gently after reading a few threads decided against using other methods, the cars at 185000 miles runs great.
I also added a back/front traffic camera its not visible and wired in,its needed in London UK traffic.(bloody cyclists).

Well I have had the car 6 months and it uses alot of oil without leaks/smoke etc so i have been changing the oil and filter as soon as it blackens i am hoping to free up the piston rings i feel that the oil consumption is decreasing slowly.so yes i am cleaning it internally.it seems very dirty but i dont want it coming out in chunks.

I havent removed the valve cover as its nice and dry and i think that the engine must be gunked up since the oil blackens so fast, i maybe wrong and its seems simpler way of cleaning it.i considered adding ATF and such but have gone this root.

My car (330ci/185000 miles) is able to turn the oil black in a 1000 miles isnt it better to flush it out than have contaminents in suspension sloshing around ? I agree that the oil could last longer but whats the point of freeing up contaminants to have them reform? any suggestions?

Installed an E39 wiper stalk, wired and coded it so that the "S" button activates the headlamp washers. This way I can independently control when I need them instead of waiting 5 tries or whatever. Of course I've since discovered that my driver side headlamp washer is just leaking under the hood. Even the passenger side doesn't seem to be spraying as strongly as it should. That could just be because of the pressure loss on the driver side though

Great idea sorry you got a leak is ther a guide to doing this somewhere?

Here in england i put my car through its annual MOT its a government inspection fairly detailed,it passed without any faults or advisories (330CI 186000 miles) i was relieved! Next time for its final one month oil change its been staying clear longer and consumption has dropped alot,i am going to measure consumption from now and will post the results.

So last week i replaced my motor mounts and disturbed the pipes to the expansion tank which (behr 1year old)started been leaking, today i replaced with a FEBI one and replaced the voltage regulator after both headlight bulbs blew as some suggest that its caused by over voltage and its on MANGOS punishment list.Well the brushes were gone so hopefully thats sorted.Next i replaced the rear antiroll bar brackets as they were very rusty, thats when i discovered my rear tyre a pirelli had on the inside the tread had separated 2/3 round with the metal visible! Dodged a bullet there as i was due to drive to the coast.

I finally managed to get my hands on a rear 20mm anti roll/sway bar to pair with my M3 front bar,I am in the UK and its taken a year to find one,it came from Denmark. The handling has improved on the car but it seems to feel like the steering guibo has slack so time to replace that.
