Umm, so, Exhaust CPS. But the bolt was stripped, so fan has to come off. so... fan clutch water pump thermostat hoses belt valve cover gasket VANOS seals exhaust cps sensor and one exhaust cps mounting bolt.

oh, and cuz life is a bitch, power steering, cuz the shaft sheared off while waiting for parts. don't go for the torx bolts that's just bad news folks. the 4 foot sledge does good on that fan bolt tho. total 10 hrs but much dicking around with lost bolts or problems caused by a previous owner. lol yes i can see you found the sensor that gave you the code before you sold me the car. good job buddy, also, how did you make the power steering work after stripping the torx bolts, sir?

oh but also cuz life is a bitch ccv needs done very much shortly now. ugh i need money for suspension...

scheduled the driver airbag recall service, they have to order the part.

ordered they new spare key and programming is free :) this should happen this week
The key doesn't need programmed to start the car! Getting the buttons to work is just some turn-the-key-and-spin-around-three-times voodoo, nothing else needed. They gave you a free freebie.

Took jfoj's suggestion from his thread and checked just the CCV lower vaccuum hose; it was busted to bits. Made a new hose from 3/8" power steering line, which is a pain, and led to the fuel pressure regulator's ends getting done too. Appears worse since the repair, gonna go check INPA shortly.

DISA valve and a proper ATF top-up.

With additive fuel trim at .1ms and multiplicative holding around 5%, with both banks even, this concludes restorative drivetrain work. Now for suspension bits next, before the interior gets an overhaul.

Just did the much-maligned front end refresh. LCAs, sway bar end links, inner/outer tie rods, struts and mounts. Lemforder LCAs, who knows what for the sway bars/tie rods, Bilstein B4 struts, and Sachs mounts. The Sachs mounts actually have that little alignment knob. I'll be going to get a professional one, but the car goes straight!

I've owned like 5 E46s now, never got around to doing the front end refresh on any of them. Get around to doing the front end refresh. I can't believe how well the car drives now!

Harbor Freight sells a little $70 1/4" drive impact driver. It blasts through everything you can get at. Highly recommend it for the top strut mount nut, it'll spin it right on and off no problem. Also, most DIYs say the cheapo spring compressors won't work, they will. You'll have to align them precisely, and it's shady AF, but it'll do it.
