Well, it was last Saturday, but I began the maintenance/re-fresh on my recently acquired 323i Sport Wagon. Replaced the lower control arms and bushings, valve cover gasket, a couple of o-rings at the overflow bottle and repaired the bracket the po destroyed, replaced a leaking coolant hose (to the bottom of the bottle), replaced the leaking P/S hoses that killed the coolant hose, and the P/S reservoir.

Next round will include a change of all filters (oil, air, cabin, and fuel) with an oil change, filter housing seal replacement, and probably level sensor replacement. Also have a blower final stage to install. Almost ready to start driving daily!

Filed my federal tax return so I can finish up the suspension on my Touring! H&R Cup Kit with ECS install kit coming soon to replace broken rear springs and front struts with damaged spring perches.

Recieved more goodies for my Touring today! H&R Touring cup kit and ECS Tuning install kit arrived today. That goes in the pile along with:

-2 jugs of LiquiMoly, Mann oil filter, oil level sender, and oil filter housing seal

-Fuel filter, engine air filter, and cabin air filter

-Climate control blower final stage

Got plenty of work to do! Need to inspect the guibo, rear subframe mounts, and shifter linkage while underneath. So excited to start driving it!

Just purchased an H&R Touring Cup kit for my e46 from tirerack and can't complain one bit about $679 for matched springs and struts with free shipping. Have an ECS install kit in the boot with the cup kit to be tackled this weekend. Can't wait!

Today I used an extra battery to get the hatch open so I can pull the battery to charge it since my dumbass left the glove box open all week last week. D'oh!!

Today it got lots of love.

-Oil change (5w40 LiquiMoly & Mann filter) and new oil level sensor. Found the leftover bottom of a crappy oil filter stuck in the bottom of the housing. Wow. I share the sentiment of punching the P.O..

-New cabin and engine air filters.

-New suspension! FCAs and FCABs already done. Today saw a new H&R Touring cup kit, ECS Tuning installation kit with front and rear upper mount reinforcements. Here's the old rear springs. Speaking of punching POs...

Put it back on the 17" "spare" because one of the 16s doesn't like to hold air. Also replaced the split vacuum hose to the combi valve for the SAI which should fix my CEL.

Installed high beam bulbs that were missing, located a spare antenna adapter I had and installed it so the radio works, and cleared the CEL after fixing the SAI problem Sunday.

Just installed one of the H&R Touring cup kits alongside with an ECS Tuning install kit with front and rear upper reinforcement plates. Loving it, so far. Ride quality is nice and I really wouldn't want the car to be any lower. On a 2000 323i Sport Wagon, btw. Pic for reference.

Interesting to see you have the quick refill washer fluid container.

"Had" would be the operative word. It was also quick draining with any type of "spirited" driving. Going to be so nice to keep that low washer light off!

Lousy deal from jackass drunk!

And a prized rare touring too.
Hopefully most of the repair is a new front fender, hood, and bumper cover.
Maybe some suspension parts.

Hopefully so, and hopefully the suspension is ok. There's about 300 miles on the H&R cup kit, Meyle HD arms, etc. The frame rail looks to be good. Body gaps on the other side are all still even, etc.

Trolled craigslist in preparation for arguing with my insurance company over the value of the car. Finding out just how hard a combination it is to find in the mid-Atlantic region. Fortunately I found 1 listing to my favor, and a couple of potential parts sources for repairing the current car.
