I took my 2002 325Ci into my dealer for a $59.95 oil change at 1300 miles right after engine break-in. When I got home, I noticed that there is a 6 inch square opening right below the oil drain plug that looks like some kind of a cover to the oil drain compartment should be .... there is even a piture of it at this DIY Oil Change link for the 330Ci:

Before I call my dealer on Monday I'd like to know if BMW actually deleted this cover for the 2002 325Ci, or was my dealer sloppy and forgot to replace it?

Thanks!:dunno:

This has been covered (no pun intended) before. Some seem to have it, others don't (myself included). At any rate, it's no big deal if you don't have it.

My car didn't come from the factory with the cover you're referring to. No big deal I guess? :dunno:
