Seems like Cosworth is synonymous with high performance. How would you like powertrain mods from Cosworth on ur bimmer?

Personally I'd love to see what Japanese tuning companies can do with BMWs, especially suspension + engines. I think when it comes to quality performance parts, Japanese parts are much better engineered.

Cosworth is British... or maybe you weren't writing in regard to the subject of this thread.

cogsworth? does this have nething to do with bimmers?
if they can make racing engines for formula 1, they are pretty good in tuning and getting that last drop of power... which is what we need out of a bmw engine

GReddy, HKS, AEM (I know they aren't Japanese), RAYS Engineering and such are working on tons of stuff for BMW's. Top notch quality...if you don't mind sharing that GReddy logo with a Civic. :D

But then Supersprint also makes stuff for Honda's, Toyota's, etc....but way too much $$$ considering the competition!

A Cosworth built BMW engine. Sounds like a winner to me!

Spoon and JUN should work on a BMW powerplant. That would be nuts! :yikes:

It would be interesting to see Greddy, HKS, and AEM come out w/ stuff for the BMW's, but it'd be weird as well. Cosworth does excellent work, and is world reknowned for their racing heritage. To see JUN make something for the 3-series would be AWESOME, but Spoon, although I love their aesthetic parts, are a bit overrated in terms of engines!

TheDream: Bro, I saw a Supra in the drift showoff car show that looked just like yours. If you didn't live on the other side of the U.S., I would have sworn it was you.

lol...a lot of Supra's out there!

Yea..you are correct...it would be weird seeing a GReddy or HKS engraved on the exhaust tip. Actually, weird isn't the right word...I think the right word is unorthodox...it would be unorthodox to see.

But GReddy is coming out with a FULL exhaust (from cat-back) instead of these 1/2 a$$ exhausts from the rear resonators...for the same price (or less in some cases) and generally GReddy exhausts sound great!

For the record, i'm getting the AEM CAI, i'll report on it when I get it!

Also, seeing HKS and GReddy on BMW's is nothing THAT new...most all of the Turbo BMW's use their parts...not to mention those Mitsubishi turbochargers ;)

Aren't the electronics in our cars giving enough trouble? I see no need to get the British involved.

The Cosworth Escort that is imported into Huntington Beach California has 276HP. And it's most likely underrated as alot of the cars overseas "mysteriously" have 276 HP!

you are totally wrong!

VW's Cosworth is responsible for the engines for performance ROAD cars such as R4, RS4, RS6, Lamborghini.....

whereas Ford's Cosworth is responsible for RACING engines such as the one on Focus WRC race car as well as the V10 F1 engines.

and personally if you are referring to VW's Cosworth, i don't think they are more capable than BMW's own Motorsport division.

yea..considering the Skyline, NSX-R, RS4, Supra, RX-7, Lancer, et al all are supercar fast with "only" 276 hp..sure uh huh.

I don't think its a matter of being capable as seeing a different tuner that produces beastly vehicles undertake a project BMW! Just to see what they are capable with their touch.

Again, seeing a reknown company like JUN or Cosworth producing BMW engines, etc would be pretty cool!
